These thoughtfully designed mini wedding ceremonies (minimonies) were created for couples looking for simplicity without sacrificing beauty.

Each minimony hosted at The Liven Room include venue decor and florals for the couple that beautifully complement the season, ceremony officiant, wedding cake for the couple and their guests, and a champagne toast to new beginnings.

All you need to do is bring your marriage license and tell your guests when they need to arrive. It’s really that simple.

For 90 minutes, you'll enjoy a private, intimate celebration for you and up to eighteen (18) of your closest guests.

What is a Minimony at The Liven Room?

A Minimony is a private mini wedding ceremony in our furnished event venue that has been completely styled and planned for you. All the details have been taken care of so you can feel free to enjoy your wedding day with eighteen (18) of your closest family and friends in an intimate setting. You just need to bring your valid marriage license and leave the rest to us.

Where do I get my marriage license?

You can apply for a Cook County marriage license at the Cook County Clerk’s office. Please find more information on the requirements at www.cookcountyclerkil.gov.

How long will my Minimony last?

Minimonies at The Liven Room run approximately 90 minutes. Beginning with your 15-20 minute ceremony, followed by a champagne and cake reception plus leaving plenty of time to take memorable pictures. Your event manager will be there to make sure your event flows seamlessly.

Do I get to pick my flowers, decor, and cake? Can I hire vendors?

We will work closely with florists and designers to make sure your Minimony decor and personal flowers perfectly complement the season and go with whatever you choose to wear on your special day. Our exclusive pastry chef will make your delicious personal cake to fit with the day’s design, just let us know of any food allergies. These ceremonies are designed to have everything ready when you arrive at your chosen time, therefore, you will not need vendors. However, if you choose to have someone else officiate your ceremony, we will gladly allow that special person to do so. Otherwise, no need to stress about anything, that’s the beauty of our Minimonies.

Will there be other couples at my Minimony?

No, your Minimony is a private event for only you and your guests. On Minimony days, we have three time slots to choose from each with ample time in between to allow for parties to arrive and depart. You are asked to arrive no more than 10 minutes before your chosen time and that your party has concluded 90 minutes after your scheduled time.

Why are minimonies scheduled for 11am, 3pm, or 8pm?

Our minimonies are scheduled to take place after your guests have already had breakfast, lunch or dinner. This way your guests will enjoy wedding cake and champagne (mimosas for the 11am) at your reception.

How much do Minimonies cost and what do they include?

During off peak months, January through April, a minimony package is $1,200. Peak wedding months, May through December, a package is $1,500.

What if I’m just looking for an officiant?

Luckily, I am ordained with the American Marriage Ministries (AMM) so I’d be honored to officiate your wedding at the location of your choice. All you need is a valid marriage license and the happy couple.
